When you’re dealing with heavy equipment, “standard” batteries don’t cut it. You need something that can handle high discharge rates and rough environments. Our 400V systems are currently moving the needle in several key industries:
Construction Machinery: Perfect for electric excavators and loaders that need sustained high torque for digging and lifting.
Mining Equipment: Provides reliable power for underground haul trucks where ventilation is a concern and zero emissions are a must.
Agricultural Tractors: Allows for long working hours in the field with fast-charging capabilities during operator breaks.
Material Handling: High-capacity power for heavy-duty forklifts and reach stackers in busy ports or warehouses.
Airport Ground Support (GSE): Powers electric tugs and belt loaders to keep airport operations quiet and clean.
Electric Buses & Trucks: A solid foundation for medium-duty commercial vehicles requiring high-voltage drivetrains.
Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs): Supports large-scale industrial robots that move heavy loads across factory floors 24/7.
Marine Propulsion: Ideal for electric ferries or workboats that need high-density energy storage for coastal transit.

Design library construction
Bonnen’s R&D department has creatively unified the CAD model base and CAE model base, allowing both to share a core set of parameters. This integration enables the design and simulation teams to quickly optimize and iterate designs, as well as rapidly create simulation models and corresponding CAD models for battery pack structures. This process is 3-5 times more efficient than manually recreating CAE models.
Security verification
The battery pack undergoes extrusion tests in the X and Y directions. When the reaction force reaches 100KN, the battery pack must not catch fire or explode. CAE analysis helps identify and resolve structural weaknesses early in the process, ensuring the design is on the right track. This approach shortens the product development cycle and reduces development costs.
Why Project Managers Choose Bonnen 400V Battery Pack
1. Faster project alignment
The pack supports OEM and ODM customization, so project managers can move from concept to spec matching faster instead of forcing the project to fit a fixed battery design.
2. Lower integration risk
High-quality connectors from Amphenol, TE, and JAE improve connection reliability and make system integration smoother, which helps reduce wiring and interface issues during development.
3. Better fit for tough environments
With IP67 protection and a Q235 steel shell, the battery is built for environments where dust, water, and mechanical stress are everyday problems. That is a big plus for field projects.
4. More thermal flexibility
Project managers can choose natural cooling or upgrade to optional liquid cooling depending on the duty cycle, ambient temperature, and space limits of the platform.
5. Easier charging strategy planning
Because the system supports both fast and slow charging/discharging, teams can plan around uptime, charger availability, and fleet operating schedules with less guesswork.
6. Stronger battery lifecycle control
The built-in BMS monitors battery health and performance, which helps optimize charging and discharging behavior and supports safer long-term operation. Our technical experts utilize sophisticated BMS algorithms that monitor every series connection to ensure optimal cell balancing and temperature regulation, even in high-demand 1C discharge cycles.
7. Faster engineering iteration
Bonnen says its unified CAD + CAE model base makes design and simulation 3–5 times more efficient than manually recreating CAE models. For project managers, that means faster feedback loops and less waiting between design revisions.
8. Better development confidence
The battery pack is supported by CAE analysis and extrusion testing logic, including a requirement that the pack must not catch fire or explode when the reaction force reaches 100KN in X and Y direction extrusion tests. That kind of validation helps project teams reduce risk early in the cycle.
1. What exactly is a 400V LiFePO4 battery pack?
A 400V battery pack is a high-voltage system made of many lithium iron phosphate cells wired in series. It’s designed to provide the massive “juice” needed for heavy-duty electric motors.
2. How does a 400V system compare to a standard 48V battery?
A 400V system is much more efficient for big machines. High voltage allows for lower current, which means you can use thinner wires and experience less heat loss during operation.
3. Is Bonnen Battery a manufacturer or a middleman?
We’re a direct manufacturer based in China. We design, engineer, and assemble our battery packs in-house, which helps us keep quality high and prices competitive for international buyers.
4. Can I customize the dimensions of the 420Ah pack? Y
es! We know that every machine frame is different. We can customize the “box” size and the placement of the connectors to fit your specific equipment.
5. What is the expected lifespan of these batteries?
Our 400V LiFePO4 packs usually last for more than 4,000 full charge cycles. For most users, that’s about 8 to 10 years of daily use before you see a significant drop in capacity.
6. Do I need a special charger for a 400V lithium battery?
You do. You’ll need a high-voltage charger that communicates with our BMS. We can provide the charger along with the battery to make sure everything works perfectly.
7. How do these batteries perform in cold weather?
Lithium doesn’t love the cold, but we can add internal heating elements. This allows the battery to charge and discharge normally even in freezing mining or construction environments.
8. What’s the lead time for an international order?
Usually, it takes about 4 to 5 weeks from the time you finish the design to the time it ships. This includes our rigorous testing phase to ensure the pack is 100% safe.
9. Are 400V batteries safe for underground mining?
Absolutely. Because they produce zero emissions and use stable LiFePO4 chemistry, they’re much safer and cleaner than diesel engines for underground work.
10. How do I know if I need a 400V or an 800V system?
It depends on your motor and power needs. Generally, 400V is the “sweet spot” for most heavy construction and agricultural gear. We can look at your motor specs and help you decide.
11. Does the battery come with a warranty?
Yes, we typically offer a 3-year or 5-year warranty depending on the application. We stand by our builds because we use top-tier cells and components.
12. Can I monitor the battery’s health remotely? Y
es, our BMS supports CAN bus communication. You can integrate this into your vehicle’s telematics to see state-of-charge (SOC) and health (SOH) from your office.
13. What happens if a single cell fails?
Our BMS is designed to protect the whole pack. If a fault is detected, it will alert the operator. Because of our modular design, repairs are often much simpler than you’d think.
14. How do you handle the shipping of such large batteries?
We are certified to ship Class 9 dangerous goods. We use heavy-duty crates and follow all international maritime and air freight regulations to ensure safe delivery.
15. Can this battery be mounted in non-standard orientations?
Answer: Yes, our fully sealed IP67 design and robust internal bracing allow for versatile mounting orientations suitable for low-profile mining equipment.
16. What’s the first step to getting a quote?
Just send us your power requirements and the space constraints of your machine. Our engineers will draft a preliminary design so you can see exactly what you’re getting.
