✅ Electric Catamarans and Yachts: Ideal as the main propulsion battery. The high voltage pack (or two packs in series) can drive dual-hull motors for extended cruising. Lightweight LiFePO4 design lets catamarans achieve better speed and range.
✅ Off-Grid and Tour Boats: Handles house loads (lights, fridges, navigation) and integrates with solar chargers. A 416Ah LiFePO4 pack matched to solar panels can yield 95–98% energy efficiency and 10+ years of daily cycling. In remote tours or liveaboard cruising, this means longer periods off-grid.
✅ Hybrid & Commercial Vessels: Supports engine start and hybrid systems ⇱. Packs designed for 800A peak discharge ensure reliable engine cranking and smooth power transitions. The battery works well on ferries, tour boats or hybrid electric ships that demand high power and durability.
✅ All-Weather Operations: With IP67 protection, the battery stays safe and operational even in rain or salt spray. Owners can run routes in any weather, and engineers can deploy the system without extra waterproofing.
I’ve heard lithium batteries can be a fire risk. How safe is your battery for my boat?
You can relax, this system is super safe. The fire risk you’ve heard about is with other, older lithium chemistries. We only use LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate), which is the most stable and safest lithium chemistry on the market. It doesn’t overheat or have the fire issues of other types. Plus, our smart BMS is always on guard.
How waterproof is this battery, really? What does IP67 mean?
It’s built for the ocean. The IP67 rating means the aluminum case is completely sealed against dust and can be dropped in up to 1 meter (about 3 ft) of water for 30 minutes without any leaks. So you’re totally protected from waves, spray, and heavy rain.
What if this 42KWH system isn’t the exact size or shape I need for my project?
No problem at all! Custom projects are our specialty. If you need a different capacity, voltage, or a unique case shape to fit a tight spot on your catamaran, just let us know. We’ll design and build a battery that’s perfect for your plans.
How long will this battery system actually last?
You’re looking at a huge lifespan. These LiFePO4 batteries are rated for over 4,000 full charge/discharge cycles. For most people, that means you’ll get over 10 years of solid, reliable performance. It’s a long-term investment.
What’s a “BMS” and why should I care about it?
The BMS, or Battery Management System, is the battery’s brain. It’s a critical safety feature that protects your investment. It automatically prevents over-charging, over-discharging, and short-circuits. It basically makes sure your batteries operate safely and last as long as possible. You should never buy a lithium battery without one.
Can I use this battery system with my solar panels?
Yes, absolutely. LiFePO4 batteries are perfect for solar setups. They are very efficient at storing and releasing solar energy. You can create a truly green and self-sufficient power system for your boat.
How much maintenance does this system require?
Basically none! This is one of the best parts about upgrading to lithium. These batteries are maintenance free—no need to check water levels, clean up acid corrosion, or deal with any of the other annoying tasks that come with lead-acid batteries. Just install it and enjoy the water.
As a project manager, how do I know if this will work with the electric motor I’ve chosen?
We’re here to help with that. You can send us the spec sheet for your motor, and we can confirm compatibility. We work with PMs and boat builders all the time, so we speak your language and can help make sure all the parts of your power system play nicely together.
How much lighter is this system compared to lead-acid batteries?
It’s a night-and-day difference. A LiFePO4 system is typically 50-70% lighter than a lead-acid battery bank with the same usable energy. This weight savings means your catamaran will be faster, more agile, and more efficient.
Do I have to use the batteries as a pair, or could I use just one?
This system is designed to be used as a pair in series to achieve the 96V output. If your project only requires a 48V system, you could potentially use a single battery. Let us know your project’s voltage needs, and we can recommend the perfect solution for you.
What kind of warranty do you offer on your batteries?
We stand behind our products. You get a full manufacturer’s warranty that covers any defects in materials or workmanship. For specific warranty length and terms, just ask our team when you inquire.
I see this big 96V system, but do you guys also make smaller batteries? I need a separate trolling motor battery and one for my fish finder.
You bet! We’re a one-stop shop for all marine lithium batteries. While this 96V system is for your main propulsion, we can absolutely supply you with top-notch 12V, 24V, or 36V batteries for your trolling motor, fish finders, lights, and other gear. We can help you build a complete lithium power solution for your entire boat.
Be straight with me: how much more time on the water am I really gonna get with this 42KWH system?
A ton more. Think of it less like a battery and more like a massive fuel tank. This system is designed for long-range cruising. Instead of worrying about getting back to the dock after a few hours, you can plan all-day trips, explore that cove on the other side of the lake, or just drift silently for hours. It’s all about maximizing your enjoyment and minimizing your “range anxiety.”
How do I charge these big marine batteries? Can I just use my old lead-acid charger?
Great question, and the answer is a definite “no.” You need a charger that is specifically designed for high-voltage LiFePO4 batteries. Using an old charger for lead-acid batteries is unsafe and won’t charge your new batteries correctly. The good news is we can supply the perfect, smart charger to go with your battery system, so you get safe, fast, and efficient charging every time.
I’ve heard the term deep cycle a lot. Is this battery system considered deep cycle?
Yes, this is the ultimate deep cycle system. A deep cycle battery is designed to provide steady, reliable power for a long time and can be drained down to a low level over and over again without being damaged. That’s exactly what this system does. It’s perfect for powering your electric motors for hours on end.
You said this system connects the batteries in series. What if I wanted to connect batteries in parallel?
Good technical question! We can design systems for either setup. To keep it simple:
• Series (like this system): Adds the voltage together. So two 48V batteries become one 96V system. This is great for powerful motors that need higher voltage to run efficiently.
• Parallel: Adds the capacity (the amp-hours) together, but the voltage stays the same. So two 48V, 200Ah batteries would become one big 48V, 400Ah battery.
We generally recommend a series connection for large catamarans, but if your project needs a parallel setup, we can build that for you too.
Can I use one of these batteries as one of my cranking batteries to start a gas engine?
This system is specifically designed as a deep cycle powerhouse, not a cranking battery. Cranking batteries are built to give a huge burst of power for a few seconds to start an engine. Our deep cycle batteries are built to provide a steady flow of power for hours. You’ll want a separate, dedicated battery for cranking duties to ensure the best performance and safety for both systems.
